Our winter hikes provide the community with a way to still enjoy the beauties of the Captina Creek watershed during colder months of the year.

Past hikes have included exploring the ravines and beauty of Raven Rocks under the display of massive icicles and frozen waterfalls.

hike Details

Date: February 18, 2023

Time: 1pm

Location: Raven Rocks, 54099 Crum Road, Beallsville, Ohio 

Length of Trail:1, 3, or 4 miles

Trail Difficulty Level: Moderate (uneven or rocky ground)

What You Need To Know: Join us to enjoy the beauty of Raven Rocks in winter!  Snacks and hot drinks will be provided! We'll start with a hike through first ravine and continue on to third ravine (apx. 3 miles total round-trip). Weather permitting, we'll have the option to continue out to balancing rock (an additional mile round trip). Call 740-238-3415 with questions or for more details!
What To Bring: 
Be prepared for slippery conditions, and bundle up.

DIrections

Raven Rocks trailhead is located at 54099 Crum Road, Beallsville, Ohio. From the north, take State Route 148 to County Road 92. Head south on County Road 92 for apx. 1.5 miles to the intersection with Crum Road. Turn left (south) on Crum Road for apx. 2 miles to the Raven Rocks trailhead. 
From the south, take State Route 26 north to the village of New Castle. In New Castle, turn right (east) on Lane School Road for apx. 2 miles to the intersection with Crum Road. Turn left (north) on Crum Road for apx. 1 mile to the Raven Rocks trailhead.
