Our Wildflower Walk is a beloved annual tradition for Captina Conservancy and our community.

Held each spring at a different location, this free event attracts some of our largest crowds and offers members of the community a chance to explore the area in a new light.

Past locations have included:
  • Barkcamp State Park
  • Barnesville Memorial Park
  • Raven Rocks
  • Sunfish Creek
  • Captina Preserve
  • Dysart Woods

This Year's WilDflower Walk

Our 11th Annual Wildflower Walk was held on April 23, 2022, at Barkcamp State Park. More than seventy people joined us for a self-guided hike on the 1.7-mile Lakeview Trail. Wildflowers were identified ahead of time by volunteers, so everyone could enjoy the event at their own leisure.

Our next Wildflower Walk will be announced in Spring 2023.

Future Locations

Do you know of a spot in the Captina Creek Watershed or surrounding area that has bountiful spring wildflowers and would make a great location for a future Wildflower Walk?

Let us know! Please reach out to us at contact@captina.org.
